about

This is one of the first pieces in which I began exploring digitally-processed harmonica. I'm playing a Hohner Echo Harp, a tremolo harmonica with two reeds for each note, tuned slightly apart from one another. The piece begins and ends with excerpts from a recording of a drum solo I did as part of a score for a performance piece I directed in 1978. Gentle echoes lead to jaunty layered phrases which retreat back to distant memories.
